We can cater for any type of species; the only sound you will hear in our residence is that of the birds staying here

Your bird needs a holiday!

Your birds spend long hours inside their cage and they are on their own. Having someone come and feed your bird or parrot during ten minutes every day is not a good solution when you want to go on holiday.

This bird residence or day care centre has a room that is fifty metres squared, with four large windows and plenty of sun throughout the day. This allows birds to relax during the morning and evening hours when they have more activity, respecting their biological rhythm.

The songs of the hundreds of wild birds that live in the trees of Granja la Luna create a nice environment that relaxes our visitors, reducing their stress and giving them a positive image of our space.

The bird residence is closed during the cold months of autumn and winter, since we can not guarantee the optimum temperature conditions for your birds

Cleaning

The cages are cleaned every day and the water is also changed to make sure they have fresh water. We also spread a sepiolite or wood shaving bed to make sure that the cage is clean and free of unwanted smells.

All parrot cages are disinfected after a parrot has used them.

Cages

Each bird must come in its own cage, which must be suitable for its size and the number of birds. They must have a safe fastener and water and food trough that can be easily removed and cleaned. There is a limited number of large cages, so please make sure to contact us in advance.

We have special cages for large parrots, which are 2 m high, 1.5 m deep and 1 m wide. They can fly inside the cage and move freely to stand on the cage's floor. The cage has hangers at different heights, which are oriented in different directions, so that the parrot can move freely. This stimulates them to exercise and improve their muscles.

We also have special toys and wooden objects that they like to peck on.

We have a home collection service, but there are many days when it is not available, in particular during the summer or holidays, etc. The vehicle is air-conditioned but we do not recommend it for the transport of parrots or other birds during long trips. In this case, you would have to bring the bird to the residence.

Food

We have top quality seeds and bird food blends and we make sure that it is always fresh and appetising.
We have top quality bird feed for parrots, but it is advisable to use the same diet they have at home, since they do not like changes and can reject our food.
We also give them fresh fruit every day, mainly apples, grapes and melon.

Handling

We try not to upset or bother them, except when they ask for rewards and want to be stroked. We do not touch birds if they do not want to be touched, we simply open their cages to clean them; in this case they allow our staff to do their job.

Turtles

Restless turtles are not a problem for us. Our residence has a two metre long pond that is 1.20 m wide and 1 m deep, where they can swim, sunbathe and rest whenever they want to. Your turtle can rest in the sun, instead of swimming the whole day long inside a glass terrarium.

In the case of land turtles, we have a very large garden with trees and a surface of hundreds of square metres where turtles can calmly stroll day and night.
Water is constantly changed to make sure it is clean to prevent any skin problems.
We provide top quality turtle feed as well as fresh and dried shrimp.

Given these special characteristics, they require special transport conditions.
Please contact us during the summer, since we might not be able to collect them from your home.
