A residence or day care center for cats only

Part of an old farm has been turned into the finest residence for your cat. Come to visit us and you will discover that our farm is a lovely place, designed just for cats! Here, your cat will not feel lonely or abandoned. He will be surrounded by trees, birds and fellow felines. His natural curiosity will constantly be stimulated.

Felines live by sun time. They are most active at dawn and twilight and they spend the daytime hours napping. At Granja la Luna they will easily follow their usual daily routine. There are large windows where they can curl up and look outside. They can go out of their cages whenever they please since these are divided into two parts: inside and outside. In this way, they will adapt to their new surroundings without any stress.

A separate garden for each animal

Your cat can choose to go out and bask in the sun or take a walk in the evening, whenever he wants to. If he prefers to stay inside, he will enjoy the cool shade or a comfortable nest made of wood where he can hide away for a while. Cats belonging to different owners are never put together. This eliminates the risk of the cats suffering from stress or fighting with one another.

On this page you can see close up photographs of the facilities where you cat will be staying. If you cannot come for a visit in person, the pictures are a very good way for you to get to know us.

The cat cages have a a variety of altitudes which will stimulate climbing up and down and avoid the onset of muscular atrophy.

Your cat can also climb to the highest part of his cage, look down on what is going on below, and from this vantage point, not feel intimidated.

The large cat cages allow for long stays without the risk of your animal developing a neurosis.

A 360 degree view of his surroundings from within the cat cage will allow your pet to see everything that is happening around him. He can watch other felines, birds and the residence caretakers and be abundantly entertained. Boredom can cause depression, loss of appetite and sickness in cats.

The inside of the large cat cages measures 4 square meters with a height of 2 meters. There is a big window for the animal to look out of and through which sunlight shines in the morning.

The cage is kept clean and smells nice. Because unpleasant smells can be disagreeable even to the cats themselves, we use aromatherapy, surrounding the animal with scents of tangerine, lavender, apple and rosemary to eliminate stress for the cat.

Food Your animal will be served top quality food. Experience has shown us that cats prefer Royal Cannin Fit 32 and Advance. For cats on a soft diet, we provide Wiskas Chicken or Gourmet pâté. Most cats have no trouble accepting a change in their diet because the aforementioned brands are the best on the market and cats like them. If your cat is eating a special brand of food or on a specific diet, Granja la Luna will ask the owner to provide this food and will feed the cat accordingly. This will not imply a discount or extra charge for the owner.

Cat litter We use Sanicat unscented litter, which is changed daily. Our experience with Sanicat has always been good. If the owner prefers another kind of litter (silica sand, cellulose beads), we will use whatever the owner provides for his pet.

Health requirements The residence is cleaned daily with authorized biodegradable detergents, disinfectants and insecticides which are safe for your cat, even if his fur comes in contact with them or he swallows them when cleaning his fur.

You must provide us with your cat’s health card indicating that your pet has been vaccinated for feline leukemia and given the trivalent vaccine.

We cannot accept animals with infectious diseases.

Please, remember your pet will be in touch with other felines and we must protected all of them.

We welcome you calling us during office hours, to know how your pet is doing.

Most cats like to take a vacation at Granja la Luna animal farm. It breaks the monotony of their normal daily routine, and provides them with new experiences which lead to a more balanced behavior. Consider that in a city apartment they usually have no contact with the outside world, they spend long hours alone and for them one day is just like the next.

If your cat has been prescribed a treatment by your veterinarian such as a special diet, pills or insulin injections for diabetics, we will take over and continue giving your pet his treatment so long, of course, as the animal will allow us to treat him.
